Anderson 365: Trinity Tornadoes

Well the time has come, Tatum is old enough to play organized team sports. As you know, she's been doing gymnastics for about 3 years, so we thought we would try a little t-ball too. My sister-in-law & I really worked on my dad to come out of retirement & coach their team. Of course, he gave in & we set off to recruit some players so we could have a group of kids that knew each other for the most part & more importantly the parents knew each other. That way we hopefully wouldn't have any crazy parents. We got us a good group of kids from church & picked up 3 excellent boys from the community sign-ups to make up our team of 12.

So with no further ado, let me introduce to you the Trinity Tornadoes.

#4 is Mac Jenkins

#5 is Brilyn Broadway

#6 is Natalie Rodgers

#7 is Jackson Elliott

#9 is Justyce Roper

#10 is Caden McKenna

& last but not least

#15 is Tatum Anderson

(I would have included their positions, but apparently other than catcher, pitcher, & 1st baseman the position is one long line in the field.)

Our first game was this past Tuesday night. We've been practicing the last 3 weeks, & to be quite honest, I wasn't so sure we were ready, but it was time none the less. Tatum said she didn't want to play a game, she just wanted to practice, so I had to convince her that the game was just practice with another team. Let me tell you, for someone who was not ready for the big game, she put her game face on (for Tatum that is a serious look with absolutely no smile) & stepped up to the challenge. She got to hit twice & made it around the bases each round. She admitted afterward, that she really liked running the bases & scoring the best.

Well the coaches (My dad, Toby, Jon Elliott, Patrick McKenna, & Randy Clifton) stressed to the kids that the most important thing was that they go out there, do their best, & most of all have fun doing it. Win or lose, it doesn't matter because at the end of the game, everyone gets a drink (This is a church team & they are 4 & 5, so drink means Capri Sun, water, etc.) Well, that is correct, but the Trinity Tornadoes got to drink their Capri Suns relishing a 12-6 victory over the Cubs & according to Coach Grampy & Coach Toby any team named the Cubs must go down!

If you get a chance, come to a game. It's quite entertaining & they have a super cool team cheer!
