Meet Tinsel Our Elf on the Shelf

Tatum was hoping that we would be chosen to get an Elf on the Shelf this year. If you don't know what an EoS is, it's a scout elf that Santa sends to watch your family & report back to him what's been going on, you know who's been naughty or nice.
Well on Nov 30th our door bell rang & guess who was at the door, yep, our EoS.
The EoS doesn't receive their magic until they are named & from that point on there are 2 rules.
1. You can talk to the elf, but he can't talk to you
2. You cannot touch the elf or he will lose his magic.
We named our elf Tinsel, Christmasy isn't it?
This is where he landed.
Every night the elf flies back to the North Pole to report to Santa & in the morning he's usually in a different place to watch. Sometimes, he moves during the day to get an even better perspective.
The first morning we woke up to see that he was at the breakfast table & had already indulged in his breakfast...candy canes.
(Everyone knows it's one of the 4 Elf food groups.)
Next day he landed in the tree. I guess the lights were a draw to him.
Day 3, he brought OSU chocolate to Tatum & Cross, you know in preparation for Bedlam.
He got Pistol Pete in on this.
Day 4, celebrated with the fam on a great Bedlam win, Go Pokes!
Day 5, bathed in a bowl of ornaments.
Day 6, hanging from the "chandelier".
Day 7, Sugar Angels.
Day 8, behind the curtain should be a good place to watch.
Day 9, A great reminder of the reason we celebrate Christmas, the birth of our Saviour.

He took a spin on the fan. He really likes flying & it was the only way he could enjoy the wind in his face in his frozen state.
A late night game of memory with the Christmas animals.
Had some coffee after his late night game.
Little afternoon nap once the caffeine from the coffee wore off.
Just a swingin'.
He changed the way he was facing midday.
He hovered on the wall, CRAZY!
He brought the kids ornaments from the NP, they were even freezing cold when the kids found them at breakfast!
He went shopping for a snack,
Hung out in the giant jingle bell, &
played peek-a-boo in the pheasant feathers.
Tinsel helped celebrate Tatum's birthday.
He was the official balloon weight.
We found him in Sutton's stocking. This drove Sutton crazy because from the moment we hang the stocking until Christmas day, Sutton has his eye on it looking for treats.
Tinsel got into some mischief, he tried to go t.p.ing.
Here he is hanging out on Cross's fire truck ladder.
Once presents showed up under the tree, he spent an evening guarding them.
He read the book A Special Place for Santa.
This talks about Santa's relationship with Jesus.
On Christmas Eve he hung out at the fireplace waiting for Santa.
He left with Santa but he'll be back next Christmas season & maybe he'll make some surprise visits during the year, you know to keep an eye on the behavior.
We really enjoyed this addition to our Christmas traditions.
Thanks Tinsel!
