Phonetic Bliss

Tatum's kindergarten class were witness to a blessed phonetic union. On May 6th, the letters Q & U were joined together in blissful phonetic matrimony. The attendants to this joining were several "Qu"arterbacks & "Qu"eens, wearing jerseys & queenly attire respectively. They were carrying (as their bouquets) signs that read, "quarterbacks, queens, quilts, quail, & question". "Q" was carried by Mrs. Murrow & "U" was carried by Mrs. Sullivan. The honorable Mr. Haggard officiated the ceremony using a 1968 edition of Webster's Dicitionary.
The officiant explained the importance of the union between Q & U, but also the need for understanding of the letter Q when other words need U, such as "u"nderpants (insert 6 year old snickers).
The two letters were joined together with the sound "Qua" & the congregation responded with several "Qu"acks rather than claps.
The service was "qu"ick & "qu"iet. The "Qu"arterbacks & "Qu"eens hosted a lovely reception of Little Debbie cakes & sherbet punch.
There were happy tears (of laughter) had by many.

(There was a warning about posting pictures on FB with a threat of grade retention of the students whose parents did so--this isn't FB!)
