It's that time again, the time of year that kids are having their dance recitals, choir concerts, or in our case Olympics. Tatum has been enrolled in a gymnastics program since she was 2 & every year they do their version of a recital to show their parents & others the skills they've been working on. We call this the Lil Flips Olympics. The event comes complete with the Olympic theme music, lighting of the Olympic flame, the playing of the National Anthem, & finishes with a medal ceremony. This year Tatum was chosen to be the torch bearer. She has been so excited about this honor & has done a real good job of keeping it a secret. She marched in so proudly. Once the opening ceremonies were done every Olympian showed us a little floor, bar, & balnce beam routine. I really think that Tatum could have done this all on her own, because it's the same routine they've done the past 2 years. She did fabulous, & in my personal opinion, the best. I might be biased but that's okay, I'm her mom.
Here are some pictures of the big event.
Before the Olympics. Not nervous at all!
This is a recreation of her torch lighting.
The actual lighting of the cauldron.
Sorry, lights were off & my flash didn't really work.
