The Monday after Easter Toby & I set off for sunny California. We attended an event called Solwatch put on by a group Toby is a part of called Lead 222. The trip was with about 40 other couples all of which are student pastors or work within their church student ministries. The idea of the conference is to allow the youth pastors & their wives the opportunity to get away, relax, & refocus on their marriages. There was wonderful worship (led by our friends Tim & Christie Mannin), good speakers on the group's core values, & great fellowship with other ministers/minister's wives (this included time with our friends Richy & Susan Fisher, the fore mentioned Mannins, & Kaleb & Kacie Kinney). We had a really good time meeting new people (some of which live in the OKC area) & actually hanging out without hearing Mommy or Daddy said a million times. I'm looking forward to next year!
We went to Dana Point, CA in the most well known county in the country,
Orange County.
This was the resort where we stayed.
FAB-U-LOUS!
The view from our resort.
Toby at Doheny Beach right below our resort.
You old timers might recognize this beach from the song
Surfin' USA by the Beach Boys.
These were on the lawn by the pool.
Wouldn't mind having one of these in my backyard!
Birds of Paradise.
The flora & fauna here were gorgeous.
The Harbor of Dana Point.
This view was high on a cliff that Toby made a bunch of us climb.
(I guess you can't take the trainer out of a person)
Here's another view from that cliff.
How'd you like to live in that house? There are lots for sale.
Here we are together, on the cliffs in Cali, oh so cute!
(Chandler didn't appear in this photo!)
This is how we roll in the OC,
BMW, Baby!
Free Day trip, to Toby's birthplace.
Escondido, CA
Story behind this pic, much too long for the blog!
Susan (my bestie) & myself on the beach rockin' our OC sweatshirts.
We think we should be on the next season of Real Housewives of Orange County.
Last night in the OC
Don't we look refreshed?
Looking forward to Solwatch 2012!
